Autism is a very real thing in the lives of many many families, including mine. When the record label that Platoon 1107 is signed to, Thumper Punk Records, solicited bands to be a part of the Autism Awareness, Acceptance and Research benefit compilation, participating was a no-brainer.
I wrote and recorded a very personal song about the joys and struggles of having kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder...a song speaking from the direct perspective of a parent...of which other parents with autistic children will no doubt be able to relate to. The 2-volume compilation will be released sometime in late July 2016 and will feature 38 bands and artists (mostly of the punk rock variety).
Platoon 1107's song "The Spectrum" will be the very first song on Volume 1 (a real honor!) and was mastered in the analog domain by Acle Kahney of the mighty prog-metal band TesseracT at his studio 4D Sounds in Brighton, UK.
The compilation will directly benefit and support the Seaver Autism Center at Mt. Siani Hospital in New York. Head on over to iTunes, Amazon Music, or any other digital retail store to purchase this song, other songs, and/or the entire compilation. THANK YOU for supporting such a worthy cause, and thank you for your time. :)

lyrics
My child…my sweet, beautiful, amazing child
From the very day you were born I loved you so
And my love for you is unconditional and everlasting
Who really knows where all of these pieces fit?
On this mysterious puzzle we gaze
In love, in wonder, in compassion, sometimes frustration…and often in tears
Hugs and kisses: our vaccine for the ages
And whatever else gets us through the night
To outsiders it seems like a scourge, an obstacle in the way of some fruitless search
They ignorantly label that which they simply do not understand
Such common, such typical man
As a war to be waged on some oppressor, that is how they perceive it
They stare and they look - does it all make more sense to them now?
They gossip and they whisper - do they feel better now?
Well I don’t pity you, my child, like they act like they do
I love you with every fabric of my being!
There is no war here
Just hugs and kisses and acceptance and family and love
It’s part of what makes you you
It’s part of what makes you you
And I…love…you!
