My Dad wrote and recorded many songs during the 1960's and 70's. Though all of the original reel to reel recordings of his are missing (lost or forever gone) a few songs survived by way of a live recording. While visiting my Mom's house a few years ago I was going through a box of old, un-labelled cassettes and came across a live set that my Dad and Mom played one night in Salinas, California. I was about 3 years old at the time of this recording and was likely in the audience...I would watch my parents performs many times while growing up. Both my Mom and my Dad were touring musicians even before they met in the early 70's (my Dad was a country-western musician, and my Mom a folk musician). On that cassette were a bunch of cover songs they did that night, but there were three songs that were originals (2 of my Dad's, 1 of my Mom's). "Son of the Wind" was the one I covered on this album and now I present the original version as performed by my parents over 40 years ago! One day soon I will get around to recording and covering the other two songs of my parents! -Jimmy

SON OF THE WIND (words and music by Jim Sisco, Sr., c. 1970)
Big city people walk down big city streets
No one knows where they are going
If being lost is happy then let me lose my way
But happiness is not where I was born
Cuz I’m a son of the wind that’s blowin at my back
Sayin, “Move on boy, you’ve got a lot to see”
I’m a son of the wind, I’ll never look back
Goodbye Marie, I’ve got the world to see
Once I met an angel named Marie
And I prayed Hail Mary let it be
How I loved my Marie, don’t you see
I loved her so that I did set her free
Cuz I’m a son of the wind that’s blowin at my back
Sayin, “Move on boy, you’ve got a lot to see”
I’m a son of the wind, I’ll never look back
Goodbye Marie, I’ve got the world to see
Ooohhh… I loved her so that I did set her free
Cuz I’m a son of the win that’s blowin at my back
Sayin, “Move on boy, you’ve got a lot to see”
I’m a son of the wind, I’ll never look back
Goodbye Marie, I’ve got the world to see
Big city people walk down big city streets
No one knows where they are going
If being lost is happy then let me lose my way
But happiness is not where I was born
Cuz I’m a son of the wind that’s blowin at my back
Sayin, “Move on boy, you’ve got a lot to see”
I’m a son of the wind, I’ll never look back
Goodbye Marie, I’ve got the world to see
Goodbye Marie, I’ve got the world to see
