I am not a blind patriot. I know that my over the past couple of centuries my beloved country has done some things domestically and globally that are cringe-worthy. At the same time, I understand that we have many many liberties and rights that multitudes of other nations do not, and that people in those nations are sometimes shedding their blood or giving their lives to obtain and attain those same liberties and rights in their own nation…if not for themselves, for their children. I feel fortunate and honored to live in the United States. This is a re-recording of a song that was on the 2013 Platoon 1107 split EP with the Tennessee band The Cants (hi, Shawn!).
